Community Involvement
HoganWillig's philosophy includes offering financial support for the arts in Western New York, as well as sponsoring and volunteering time to charitable causes in our local community. Our financial dedication and support of the arts is evidenced by our sponsorship of Studio Arena Theatre, the Theatre of Youth, Albright-Knox Art Gallery and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Our genuine interest in the community is demonstrated by our involvement in the Adopt a Highway Program, Tour De Cure, the JDRF Walk for a Cure, events that benefit People Inc. and United Way. We also sponsor numerous local golf tournaments for a variety of local businesses.
We encourage our attorneys and staff to volunteer in the local community. Our firm members have donated time and professional services to support several smaller private charitable events to benefit various local organizations, such as Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Our attorneys volunteer for the Bar Association of Erie County's Law Line (WNED 970AM), and our managing attorney Diane Tiveron is on of the Board of Directors for Southeast Works and Meals on Wheels. We enjoy being involved in the Western New York community through a joint commitment of time and money.
We are fully committed to our Community Outreach Program and feel very strongly about its value. The program consists of presentations that are offered free to the community, including educational institutions and local businesses, addressing certain legal topics and issues that we have found to be of concern to many people. We have put together low-key, down-to-earth presentations using everyday, understandable language to explain how the various legal concepts and/or concerns may impact someone’s life. Our most commonly scheduled presentations include:
The Top 10 Concerns of Retirees;
Avoid Becoming the Victim of Elder Fraud;
Frequently Asked Questions About Real Estate Closings, and
The Implications of Underage Alcohol Use.
