Prenuptial Agreements

To many, entering into an agreement to protect assets and protect against liabilities in the event of a divorce but in advance of a marriage may seem counterintuitive.  However, many parties have considered the reality of a nationally high divorce rate and other personal factors and have entered these agreements which then give a couple a certain comfort level as they move forward with their relationship.  Should the unfortunate happen, a well thought out prenuptial agreement can greatly reduce the exposure of a party in a divorce and may also significantly diminish the issues which would need to be addressed in a divorce.

Prenuptial agreements can be prepared to meet your specific needs as an individual, as a couple and as a family. When relying solely on “boilerplate” language and when such agreements are not carefully tailored to the parties’ individual situations these agreements can result in costly and lengthy litigation. Our attorneys can assist you in preparing an agreement in a manner that provides you with as much peace of mind to protect your interests and to avoid legal and financial pitfalls under the current state of law.
