Diane's Blog Posts

"Since graduating from State University of New York at Buffalo law school in 1989, I have spent my legal career with HoganWillig. The growth of the firm has allowed me the opportunity to acquire invaluable experience and expertise not offered by many other firms and I am especially proud of our firm's ability to assist clients with a wide and varied range of legal issues.

I manage the Business and Commercial Law departments which enables me to assist with business formations (sole proprietorship, partnership, corporations, limited liability companies) and every kind of business acquisition, sale or dissolution. I also provide assistance with commercial lending needs that our clients may have. I supervise my department in preparing every kind of commercial document/contract from an employment agreement to a lease. In regard to leasing, I provide advice in connection with all aspects of commercial and residential tenancies from lease formation/negotiation to evictions.

I also counsel individuals with bankruptcy issues (Chapter 7 and Chapter 13) as well as assist many creditors with protecting their rights in bankruptcy. I am able to provide assistance as well to creditors with their general collection needs. I oversee the representation of an automobile lender statewide and am knowledgeable in this area as well as general issues that involve New York State's Uniform Commercial Code.

In partnership with our Litigation department, our Business and Commercial Law department also engages in civil litigation in all courts in Western New York with regard to commercial issues such as breach of contract, fraud, foreclosure, and business disputes.

Finally, I assist with the general management of the firm which I am probably best suited for because of my years of having been here. This gives me an opportunity to engage with all other departments of the firm including criminal, family and marital, personal injury and malpractice, estate and elder law, and real estate."
