Green Initiatives
Environmental stewardship is an important aspect of HoganWillig's philosophy and commitment to excellence in our community. As a firm, we encourage our attorneys and staff to be actively involved in promoting sustainability. We have devised and implemented programs to conserve resources, to reduce our carbon footprint, protect the environment and promote the benefits of sustainability to our people and the greater business community.
HoganWillig counsels many clients involved in environmentally progressive ventures. We are passionate about green initiatives and have expanded our representations in these areas to work with private clients and organizations dedicated to protecting the environment.
Our Green Building:
In early 2010, we relocated our main office to 2410 North Forest Road in Amherst, New York and HoganWillig serves as the anchor tenant in this new, 80,000 square foot, Class A, LEED registered office building.
As a full-service law firm with 100+ employees, including over 40 attorneys, this move provided us with the necessary space for our continued growth. While the amount of space we are occupying increases as we grow in number, our "green" building allows us to reduce our carbon footprint through many environmentally-friendly and productivity-enhancing features.

Paper Usage and Recycling:
HoganWillig has instituted effective recycling practices and significantly reduced our paper consumption. We continually seek to minimize the volume of paper used in printing, copying, data storage and communication. To do so, we have implemented software programs to reduce paper consumption for internal and external communications, document and case management. We also receive faxes electronically and have converted our newsletters from a hard copy to an electronic version. Internal campaigns urge our personnel to view documents on-screen whenever possible which is made easier by way of dual monitors at each workstation.
In addition to paper recycling, we implemented a single streamlined recycling process in conjunction with our property management team to maximize our recycling efforts firm wide.
Conserving Energy:
Our LEED registered building features energy efficient lighting, heating and other systems. Our offices promote energy efficiency through motion-sensitive light switches and energy star-compliant office lights and appliances.
