May 22, 2008 - 3 Killed, 3 Injured In Ohio Car Crash

An early-morning crash left three people dead and three children injured in Clermont County, Ohio.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol officers, the crash occurred when Krystal Delaney, 18, who was heading south on Ohio Route 133, crossed the center line and hit an oncoming car head-on at 12:30 a.m. this morning.

The driver and passenger of the other car, Joshua Day, 31, and Rita Day, 27, were killed in the crash. Delaney was also killed in the collision.

None of the three people killed were wearing seat belts.

The Day's three children, ages 2, 6 and 7, were transported by helicopter to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. All three were wearing seatbelts or properly restrained in car seats, suffering only minor injuries.

According to hospital officials, the older children are in fair condition, while the youngest child was treated and released.

The crash is currently under investigation, but state troopers speculate that Delaney may have dozed off behind the wheel before crashing.
