May 29, 2008 - Cabbie Quarrel Leads to Crash

An argument between two Chicago taxi drivers is the possible cause of a crash that injured three people on Thursday.

Witnesses reported seeing one of the cab drivers trying to jump out of his cab to continue a heated argument with another cab driver when his vehicle began to roll backward.

The cab then crossed busy Adams Street near Union Station, scattering pedestrians before crashing into a lamppost.

"Tons of people were jumping out of the way," a witness said. "It was crazy."

The driver and two pedestrians were transported to a local hospital. A passenger in the taxi refused medical treatment for minor injuries.
